    1. you have the wrong answer for question #46 Co-Location is the opposite of virtual teams. When you have all your team located in the same room you can increase communication and help them build a sense of community. this is sometimes called war room.

    2. Rolanda,
      The answer provided is right.
Q 46) Locating all team members in the same location is called: Collocation

War room on the other hand, is a specific room where the team/key players meet to resolve specific issues/plan strategies. Team members may be collocated or virtual (they can dial in to the meeting/video conference).
All team members don't meet and work in war rooms everyday.

  2. Nice, but easy questions.

  3. Some of your answers don't make sense. for ex. RBS acronym only stands for Risk Breakdown Structure according to the PMBOK. your answer says it can stand for both risk breakdown structure and resource breakdown structure which I dont think is true. Also, your calculation on the PERT question does not make sense.

  4. RBS stands for both Risk Breakdown structure and Resource Breakdown structure according the PMBOK guide 4th ed.

  6. Your answer to the question on Opportunity Cost 86 seems wrong.Opportunity Cost- the smaller the better not the other way round?

  10. First, thank you for doing this. I found it helpful. However, it seems that you do want some constructive feedback, so I'm providing that here. (Note: it may not be worth actually updating this since PMBOK version 5 is coming out in 3 months).

Feedback here lists question number followed by my observation. Thanks again.

83: Gold Plating is not "setting higher than possible expectations". It is "providing more than what the customer requested".

85: Scope Management and Risk Management aren not "processes" in the context you have referred to them here. They are "knowledge areas", per PMBOK version 4. Also - the other two answers you have listed are not "processes" either, really. They are instead "process groups". I suggest your terminology should be updated accordingly.

97: Residual risk is not that which remains after ALL risk responses have been implemented. It is that risk which remains after THE CORRESPONDING risk responses have been implemented.

136: "Project Time Management" is not one of the processes. It is a knowledge area. Suggest your wording be updated.

137: This question is worded poorly. Example: 'deliverable' is not an output of Create WBS - yet your question/answer indicates that it is so.

181: Nomenclature for answers 'c' and 'd' need to refer to roman numerals for responses - not alphabetic characters.

  15. thanks and this has fill some gaps in my knowledge. but not the last question, 206, its seems its wrong because i have calculated it several times and getting 2000 and not 1000 as you specified. using this formular: EAT=BAC/CPI. please recheck and get back to me. regards Eric. Ghana. i will write the exams next week.

  16. 137 is wrong. Outputs of “Activity Definition” and “Create WBS” are Activities and WBS, not Schedule activity and deliverable! – deliverable is an output of “Direct and Manage Project Execution”

  17. 126 needs to be reviewed too. Product verification should happen during "Verify/Validate Scope" not during Project closure

  18. In 111, EAC is $1600, which is "None of the Above", not $1400. I tried working out different EAC scenarios and none comes out to $1400 :-(

  19. In 91, isn't Crosby's COQ theory based on conformance? Also in 92, none of those answers really fit Juran's fitness for use theories.

  20. In 183, Procurement Performance Reviews are used to evaluate vendor performance, not the Procurement Audit. The Audit reviews the procurement process only

  28. This is great. Thanks for putting it together. Answer to question #48 should be b) 10. Formula for communication channels is n(n-1)/2 (pg 253 of the fourth edition)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello,
The total # of team members including the project manager is 6.
So the # of communication channels is (6*5/2)=15.
      I have fixed the answer.
      Thanks.

  33. Yeah its a good article. According to you what we project managers do is communicating. And a lot of this communication is done during project meetings. It can sometimes feel like you are running from one meeting to another and that your time is often wasted. Meetings don’t start on time, the issues aren’t dealt with, there is no agenda, there is no focus, nobody assigns any follow ups or tasks and of course then they also don’t end on time. An efficient project manager is required for the good management of a project. I think a project manager should PMP certified. Looking forwards to apply what I learned in PMP classes in my company.

  37. Hi,

Could you please justify the answers for Question 67 and 138....

  38. Question# 111

It says Variance can occur again. That means we need to use the formula BAC/CPI.
    BAC = 800, CPI = 0.5
    So, correct answer for EAC = 800/0.5 = 1600

  39. Question 178 ...
Whenever the buyer sends a formal request to each vendor for a service, that is called PROPOSAL . I think the options given here for this question should be corrected .

  40. This set of questions is a good effort to help students. However, The answer provided for each question must be confirmed before it is published.

And most of all, why can't you retain the usual black on white background. It is the standard for a reason across the web. It is easier on the eyes, easier to read and ore enticing to stay in the page. Please change it to normal.
